Apply Now to Become a Volunteer Board Director! Are you interested in being a part of a dynamic and forward-thinking board dedicated to the wellbeing of our community’s health. If so, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking community volunteers for the Rapid’s Family Health Team Board of Directors.

Rapids Family Health Team (RFHT) is a diverse group of health professionals focused on delivering quality primary health care to our community through the collaborative efforts of family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, psychologists, registered dietitians and other allied health professionals. Our FHT is committed to holistic, patient-centered care emphasizing disease and illness prevention, harm reduction and health promotion.

As a Board director, you will be responsible for directing the affairs of the organization in accordance with applicable legislation, constituting documents, approved strategies, business plans, and government policies established and communicated by the Government of Ontario.

Prior experience on a Board of Directors would be an asset but not a prerequisite. Knowledge of health care and a desire to improve the health care system through innovation and new models of care are preferred. We are building for the future and are looking for individuals to become part of a strong team. Experience in any of the following areas: community leadership/presence; business acumen; general management and leadership; strategic planning; patient experience/advocacy; innovation; and organizational development would be an asset. Individuals who are looking to expand on their current skills are welcome to apply.

Rapids Family Health Team is a not-for-profit health organization funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. We have a ‘mixed base’ Board of Directors, consisting of local physicians, members of our community and patients of the FHT. Directors serve for a term of up to three years subject to renewal.
